We are delighted that you are applying for a $50,000 United States Artists Fellowship. As you know, a distinguished member of the arts community nominated you in recognition of your singular artistic vision and creative potential. A USA Fellowship supports your imagination by providing money to allow you the time to envisage, plan, and/or produce your next work.

This application is the first step on the path. A panel of experts in your discipline will consider all your submitted materials as it selects the awardees. Their primary criteria will be excellence – however they define it.

Please give yourself plenty of time to complete the application. We are here to help you, but cannot accomodate last-minute requests from numerous applicants simultaneously. In order to reimburse you for any costs incurred during the application process and to encourage early applications, we offer the following for completed applications:

• $125 if submitted by April 12, 2008
• $100 if submitted between April 13 - 19, 2008
• $75 if submitted between April 20 - 28, 2008

The deadline for the application and work samples is April 28, 2008 (5pm PT). Please do not wait until the last day to apply. All audio and video work samples must be received on or before this date. We will not accept any applications or changes after this date.

You may return to your application as often as you like; in order to do so, you must create an account by clicking the "Save & Finish Later" button which appears after you begin. Once the application has been submitted, changes will not be accepted.
