Benjamin Millepied is a ballet dancer and choreographer. He began studying ballet at the age of eight, and in the summer of 1992 he attended the School of American Ballet, returning there the following year to study full-time. A protégé of Jerome Robbins, Millepied became a soloist for the New York City Ballet in 1998 and principal dancer in 2002. He is a much-in-demand dancer and choreographer who has created dances for American Ballet Theatre and for Mikhail Baryshnikov, among others.
