Day Al-Mohamed is a filmmaker, author, and disability policy executive. A sought-after presenter and moderator, Al-Mohamed has written two novels as well as stories, comics, and critical essays. She is a founding member of FWD-Doc (Documentary Filmmakers with Disabilities), is a graduate of the VONA/Voices Writing Workshop, and sits on the Board of Directors for Docs in Progress. Her documentary on disabled Civil War soldiers, The Invalid Corps, was licensed to Alaska Airlines and had its broadcast premiere on public television in 2020. She is a producer of feature documentary UNSEEN (POV, 2024) and is currently working on her docu-series RENEGADES of role-breaking disabled leaders in history for American Masters/PBS digital with a release date for October 2024.

Al-Mohamed was named a DOC NYC 2021 Documentary New Leader, was part of the NBC 2022 Original Voices Fellowship class, and in 2023 was named to Diversability's D-30 Disability Impact List, honoring thirty disabled leaders globally. Outside of her creative work, she is a policy expert with over fifteen years of experience. The former White House Director of Disability Policy, she is a proven leader in inclusion and accessibility, policy development, organizational transformation, and innovative program design. She proudly serves as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Al-Mohamed lives in Washington, DC with her wife, N.R. Brown, her new daughter, Baby Dragon, and her guide dog.
