A white, disabled, genderqueer activist-survivor-poet, Eli Clare dreams a world without police and prisons; without psych wards, group homes, and nursing homes; without capitalism and white supremacy. Clare has written two books of creative non-fiction, the award-winning Brilliant Imperfection: Grappling with Cure and Exile and Pride: Disability, Queerness, and Liberation, and a collection of poetry, The Marrow's Telling: Words in Motion, and has been published in numerous periodicals and anthologies. He lives near Lake Champlain in occupied Abenaki territory (currently known as Vermont) and travels all over the United States and Canada, speaking, teaching, and facilitating. Among other pursuits, Clare has walked across the United States for peace, coordinated a rape prevention program, and helped organize the first ever Queerness and Disability Conference.
