Norman Kelley is an architecture and design collaborative from New York and Chicago. Founded in 2012 by Carrie Norman and Thomas Kelley, their professional and theoretical work enhances an understanding of material culture by swerving within two and three-dimensions. Results vary in scale and medium, from site-specific drawings, furniture objects, and habitable interiors. Kelley is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Architecture and a fellow of the American Academy in Rome. Norman is a licensed architect in the state of New York and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and Barnard College.


Norman Kelley has contributed work to the 14th Venice Architecture Biennial (2014), the Chicago Architecture Biennial (2015, 2017) and is a recipient of the Architectural League of New York Young Architects Prize (2014). Their design work is currently represented by Volume Gallery in Chicago. Both partners received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with Honors from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University.
